Dr Marco Iafolla is a Medical Oncologist at William Osler Health System with a focus on cutaneous, head and neck, and genitourinary cancers. At the University of Toronto, he completed his Bachelors of Science in Biological Chemistry and Masters of Science in Physical Chemistry. He was then enrolled in medical school at the University of Ottawa. Thereafter he did his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Alberta, and then his Medical Oncology residency at McMaster University. Subsequently, he completed his clinical research fellowship at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre where he studied immuno-oncology drugs in early phase clinical trials and assisted in ongoing biomarker development.
He has been working at William Osler Health System since September 2019. His main academic interest is ongoing immuno-oncology biomarker development to better identify which patients are likely to derive benefit, or side effects, from immunotherapies.
